It can be difficult to be hard on ourselves, but self-compassion can help us to see our own worth and value.

Here are five ways to practice self-compassion:

1. Be mindful of your self-talk.
The way we talk to ourselves can be very critical and negative. Pay attention to the things you say to yourself and try to reframe them in a more positive light.

2. Be gentle with yourself.
We are often our own worst critics. Try to treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would extend to others.

3. Accept your imperfections.
We all have imperfections, and we should accept them as part of our identity.

4. Forgive yourself.
We all make mistakes. Learn from them and then let them go.

5. Show yourself some compassion.
Take some time for yourself to do things that make you happy. Be patient with yourself and know that you are worthy of love and care.
