How to Work With Difficult Clients
If you’ve ever worked with a client — from hell — who can’t seem to make up their mind, you know how frustrating it can be.
You’ve probably spent hours going back and forth with them, trying to figure out what they want, only to have them change their mind again.
It can be tempting just to give up and walk away, but if you really want to make the sale, you’ll need to find a way to work with them.
1. Be patient
This is probably the most important thing you can do. It can be difficult to be patient when you’re trying really hard, but it’s important to remember that everyone makes decisions differently. Some people need more time than others to feel comfortable with a decision.
2. Ask questions
A lot of times, people can’t make up their minds because they don’t know what they want. Asking questions can help you understand their needs and desires, which will make it easier to find a solution that works for both of you.
3. Be flexible
If a client is having trouble making a decision, it’s likely because they’re not sure what they want. In these cases, it’s important to be flexible and open to different options.
4. Offer your opinion
Sometimes, people just need a little push in the right direction. If you have a strong opinion about what the client should do, don’t be afraid to share it. Just be sure to back up your opinion with facts and logic.
5. Be persistent
If you really believe in your vision, don’t give up just because a client is having trouble making a decision. It may take some time, but eventually, they’ll come around.
